In spring 2004 the Swedish entrepreneur and founder of the Puro brand, Mats Wahlström, decided to realize a project Puro Hotel in Palma
de Mallorca, a project with a travelling, cosmopolitan and nomadic spirit which would reflect his lifestyle.
The hotel was an instant attraction for tourists and locals alike, all in search of new trends, clients who would frequent not only the bar but also the Opio restaurant.
Following the success of Puro Hotel, the company launched a new venture which would prove to be the perfect complement to the Mallorcan hotel.
In the summer of 2005, Purobeach Palma was born. Located in an exclusive corner of the Mallorcan coast, it offered a unique combination of services by the sea, a unique lifestyle concept by the sea with ethnic design, a pool made out of black volcanic stone, Balinese hammocks, spa services and a restaurant with its trademark 3M cuisine, selective music, a shop and Puro products. In short, everything that could be wished for, even by the most hard-to-please.
The enormous success of Purobeach Palma led to further expansion with the completion of a new project, Purobeach Marbella, just a year later in July 2006.
After a period of consolidation, including the expansion of Puro Hotel Palma with the Private Wing Concept, a project which added 11 additional rooms, the objective of opening two ventures a year under the “Purobeach” line was achieved.
During the winter of 2011, Puro Group increased the number of stakeholders, providing a perfect blend of expertise in both hospitality and finance fields.
Together with the founder’s passion, this combination has enabled a rapid but controlled expansion in the most remote locations around the world.
